Report of shots fired draws heavy presence from Citrus Heights police

By Mike Hazlip—
Citrus Heights Police last week responded to a call reporting gunshots fired on a private lane in the Sunrise Ranch neighborhood, but were unable to find any evidence authorities said.

Police Sgt. Kane Kissam told The Sentinel in a phone call Monday that officers responded to the 7500 block of Mary Lane on Thursday evening, April 20. After a search of the area, officers were not able to locate any evidence of a shooting.

Kissam said no shell casings were found. A police incident log for April 20 shows a report of the “sound of shots fired” at 9:39 p.m., with the disposition listed as “gone on arrival.”

Following the incident, residents reported seeing a heavy police presence in the parking lot of Citrus Heights Fellowship, a church located on the 7400 block of Mariposa Avenue.
