Nominations kick off for 2023 ‘Best Lights’ contest

Sentinel staff report–
Citrus Heights residents can now nominate a neighbor to win a “Best Lights in Citrus Heights” contest, through Dec. 15, 2023.

Nominations can be made through the city’s website, with the annual light contest including the following seven categories:

  • Griswold Award: Brightest display of shining lights.
  • Santa’s Favorite: Best appearance or theme.
  • Holiday Village: Best multi-house display.
  • Hollywood Holidays: Best use of characters (Frosty, Santa, etc.)
  • Outdoor Holiday Tree: Best decorated tree.
  • Jingle All the Way: Best use of music and/or animation
  • Jack Frost: Chilliest display of icicles and white lights.

Nominations are accepted through 4 p.m. on Dec. 15, with public voting on the best nominees from Dec. 16-19, the city says. A map of current nominees is posted on the city’s website.
