Citrus Heights police arrest 5 after Christmas Eve theft from Old Navy

The Citrus Heights Police Department said officers were able to stop five suspects after they allegedly stole more than $6,000 in merchandise.

The department said the incident occurred the day before Christmas at about 3:45 p.m. Four adults and one juvenile were stopped by officers after they had “just committed retail theft from Old Navy,” the department said in a social media post on Friday.

Those arrested have been charged with organized retail theft and grand theft of more than $6,000 in merchandise, the department said.

In photos posted on Facebook and Twitter, the department showed new clothing with tags laid out on several police vehicles in a parking lot. The department’s posts quickly gained hundreds of likes and comments, thanking police.
