Police on Wednesday released an image of a car involved in a Sept. 25 homicide.

Sentinel staff report–
The Citrus Heights Police Department on Wednesday released an image of a dark green Honda sedan that was involved in a Sept. 25 shooting at the Montage Apartments.

In a post on social media, the department said the vehicle belonged to the victim, who died in the shooting. Authorities are asking for members of the public to submit a tip to police if they “had contact with this vehicle or its occupants on Saturday, 9/25/21 in the Sacramento region.”

Police said tips can be submitted at www.crimealert.org.

As previously reported, police said multiple calls about the shooting were received around 9:30 p.m. on September 25. Officers responded to the apartments, at 12801 Fair Oaks Blvd., and located evidence of a shooting.

During the investigation, police saw a vehicle matching witness descriptions leave the area traveling northbound along Fair Oaks Boulevard. Officers stopped the vehicle at Fair Oaks Boulevard and Oak Avenue where they found one victim with gunshot wounds inside the vehicle. Police attempted life saving measures, but the victim died.

A separate shooting also occurred at the same apartment complex on Valentine’s Day. In that incident, a man was left with a gunshot wound to the leg in what police believe was likely a drug robbery.
