  • Citrus Heights Police Logs: $4k shoplifting, gun theft, tantrums

    Latest police logs include shoplifters making off with $4,000 in products from Victoria’s Secret, police being called on an out-of-control five-year-old student at Carriage Elementary, grand theft of a firearm at a gun shop on Greenback Lane, and a report of a naked woman in a shopping cart on Auburn Boulevard.

    Wednesday, October 10, 2018: Total of 76 incidents listed.
    Incident report categories of note: 19 calls regarding suspicious activities, 23 disturbance-related, 7 homeless/transient-related, 3 petty thefts, 2 grand thefts, 1 burglary, 2 assault reports, and 2 reports of domestic violence.

    10:28 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Blue Ribbon Maintenance on Auburn Blvd. Police were advised that a “naked female” was observed in a shopping cart, with a man was yelling at her and hitting the cart with a stick.

    11:31 a.m., Stolen Vehicle, 7440 Club on Auburn Blvd.  A caller told police they had witnessed someone steal a vehicle outside the 7440 Club on Auburn Boulevard.

    12:00 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Carriage Elementary on Carriage Drive. A five-year-old student was reportedly in the school’s office causing a verbal disturbance and “thrashing around and throwing things.” The school was unable to reach the child’s parents, and police were advised that the child had “documented behavior issues.”

    2:11 p.m., Domestic Violence, Voyager Wy. A woman told police her boyfriend had pushed her and poured water on her. She requested to press charges.

    3:41 p.m., Reckless Driving, Locher/Sunrise. Police were advised about a speeding Tesla that almost ran a woman over as she crossed the street. The driver involved was reportedly “angry that the map didn’t reflect a locked fire gate.”

    3:57 p.m., Grand Theft, Victoria’s Secret at Sunrise Mall. Several shoplifters reportedly made off with about $4,000 in beauty products from the Victoria’s Secret store inside Sunrise Mall. The suspects were running towards the Sears entrance on the south side of the store when police were notified.

    5:29 p.m., Shoplifting, Macy’s Womens at Sunrise Mall. Police were contacted after a female shoplifting suspect at Macy’s was detained by security.

    6:38 p.m., Grand Theft, Sacramento Armory on Greenback Ln. A suspect reportedly made off with a stolen firearm from the Sacramento Armory. An employee was pursuing the suspect on foot going eastbound on Greenback when police were contacted.

    7:01 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Madera Park on Wonder St. A suspicious individual was reportedly seen parked in a vehicle at Madera Park, greeting children in the parking lot.

    7:49 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Misty Creek Drive. Police were contacted after a man was observed trying to get through the back window of a home near Twin Creeks Park. The caller confronted the man, who alleged it was his grandmother’s house.

    8:24 p.m., Petty Theft, Walmart on Auburn Blvd. A man with a hunting knife on his waist was reportedly hanging out in the jewelry section of Walmart with a basket of merchandise. He had tried to leave the store with the merchandise, but turned back around. Employees did not want to confront the man due to the knife.

  • Citrus Heights Police Logs: arson, stolen truck, fire extinguisher assault

    Updated Oct. 7, 2:01 a.m.–
    Latest police logs include a man’s ex-wife reportedly taking out a life insurance policy on him, an arson incident at a local park, a firefighter having his phone stolen while responding to a grass fire, and a fight at a gas station involving one party grabbing a fire extinguisher and spraying it on the other party.

    Tuesday, September 25, 2018: Total of 77 incidents listed.
    Incident report categories of note: 14 calls regarding suspicious activities, 28 disturbance-related, 9 homeless/transient-related, 5 petty thefts, no grand thefts, 1 burglary, 6 assault reports, and no reports of domestic violence.

    12:50 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Sprouts Farmers Market on Greenback Ln. A caller playing Pokemon in a vehicle shortly before 1 a.m. was approached by a transient who reportedly said “That’s the kind of (expletive) that gets you shot,” and then walked off.

    8:52 a.m., Graffiti Private Property, London Hair Faire on Fair Oaks Blvd. Gang-related graffiti was reported on the front windows of a hair salon near the corner of Greenback Lane and Fair Oaks Blvd.

    9:20 a.m., Vandalism, Blue Springs Wy. Police were contacted about a possible hate crime involving vandalism to a 2002 Toyota Tacoma, which had reportedly been “smashed and etched with several racial slurs.” The vehicle was parked on a small court off Blue Springs Way, on the northern outskirts of the city.

    10:40 a.m., Assault w/Weapon, Chevron at Auburn/Greenback. Two men were involved in a physical confrontation at the Chevron gas station at Auburn Boulevard and Greenback Lane. One of the men reportedly “grabbed a fire extinguisher and sprayed it on another male.”

    11:15 a.m., Stolen Vehicle at Rusch Park. A Toyota Tundra was reportedly stolen from a parking lot at Rusch Park while the owner stopped to use the bathroom at the park. The caller advised police that when he got to the bathroom, he turned around and saw his vehicle leaving the park. He said keys had been left inside the truck.

    12:04 p.m., Petty Theft, Sylvan Oaks Library on Auburn Blvd. A firefighter reported having his phone stolen while responding to a call of a grass fire near the library. He tracked the phone leaving on Greenback Lane towards Auburn Boulevard, but the phone was then turned off and unable to be tracked.

    5:08 p.m., Fraud/Forgery, Rollingwood Blvd. A man called from Las Vegas, Nevada, to report that his ex-wife had opened a life insurance policy on him.

    5:51 p.m., Petty Theft, Joann Fabrics on Sunrise Blvd. A “grab and run” incident occurred at Joann Fabrics, with one or more suspects reportedly running off with an unspecified number of shirts.

    7:25 p.m., Arson, Arcade Creek Park. A fire was reported in the Arcade Creek Park preserve area, located off Sunrise Boulevard on Bonham Circle. The incident was listed as arson, although no other details were provided in the log description.

    10:08 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Round Table Pizza on Sunrise Blvd. Police were contacted about a man who was allegedly punching windows at Round Table Pizza after being told to leave the business’s bathrooms. The man also reportedly challenged an employee to a fight and made death threats. He left pushing a cart towards McDonald’s.

  • Citrus Heights Police Logs: Dine-and-Dash, football fight, robbery

    Latest police logs include several adults reportedly getting into a fight at a San Juan High School football game, robbery at Grocery Outlet, a rash of assault reports, and a dine-and-dash incident at Texas Roadhouse on Sunrise Boulevard.

    The following is a summary of select incidents listed in the Citrus Heights Police Department’s daily incident bulletins for Friday, Sept. 21, 2018.

    Friday, September 21, 2018: Total of 75 incidents listed.
    Incident report categories of note: 12 calls regarding suspicious activities, 22 disturbance-related, 5 homeless/transient-related, 3 petty thefts, no grand thefts, 3 burglaries, 9 assault reports, and 3 reports of domestic violence.

    8:31 a.m., Hit & Run non-injury, Pastors Auto Care on Sunrise Blvd. Police were advised that the driver of a Ford pickup had hit a gas station pump, causing about $500 in damage. The driver reportedly refused to provide info and then left. The truck was described as a 1998-2000 silver Ford pickup, pulling a 6 x 10 ft. white box trailer with no license plates.

    8:42 a.m., Disturbance Noise, Ketch Ct. An ongoing issue was reported to police regarding after-hours construction noise in the backyard of a residence on a small court off Birchglade Way. The issue reportedly had been going on for several months and was continuing each night until 3 a.m. and then resuming at 8 a.m.

    9:41 a.m., Robbery, Grocery Outlet on Greenback Ln. A suspect allegedly pushed an employee while stealing items from the store and then took off in a burgundy colored Town & Country sedan. Suspect information and estimated loss was not included in the log.

    10:20 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Lichen K-8 on Lichen Dr. Police were contacted regarding a parent allegedly “harassing other parents” in the parking lot.

    11:09 a.m., Homeless Camp, Sunrise Blvd. Police were advised of an ongoing problem with a homeless camp behind a business on Sunrise Boulevard. The campers were described as aggressive and had reportedly “pulled knives on business employees.” The camp had already been tagged by police with a notice to clear out by Sept. 19.

    11:49 a.m., Burglary Vehicle, Benihana Grill on Sunrise Blvd. A caller told police that more than $20,000 of computer and specialized racing equipment had be stolen overnight from a vehicle at Benihana Grill on Sunrise Boulevard.

    6:47 p.m., Assault w/ weapon, Wendy’s on Greenback Ln. A caller told police that a Honda SUV had just run over their mother’s feet, which was described as an intentional act related to a road rage incident.

    7:06 p.m., Assault, San Juan High School. Police were contacted after several adults reportedly got into a physical altercation at a high school football game.

    7:51 p.m., Vandalism, Slippery Creek Ln. A caller told police their ex-girlfriend was kicking a vehicle and was currently smashing out the front windshield by using her feet to smash it from the inside. Police were told that the woman was not on drugs and had not been drinking.

    9:53 p.m., Disturbance Noise, Rollingwood Blvd. An underage drinking party with about 50 people, ages 15-17, was reported at a location on Rollingwood Boulevard.

    10:20 p.m., Petty Theft, Sunrise Mall. A caller reported interrupting a thief in the process of stealing a bike at Sunrise Mall. The caller said the male suspect was observed cutting a lock and then riding off on the bike.  The suspect’s only description was a white male adult, with a shaggy beard.

    10:52 p.m., Criminal Threats Report, Catamaran Dr. A called told police he had met another party online and subsequently provided the other party with a “video of his penis.” The other party then allegedly threatened to release the video if the man didn’t pay $500 within 24 hours. The caller said he did not know the other party, other than through an online conversation.

    11:12 p.m., Petty Theft, Texas Roadhouse on Sunrise Blvd. A dine-and-dash incident was reported, involving several customers who left without paying their bill. The total price of the meal was $63.93.

  • Citrus Heights Police Logs: prostitute, wheelchair collision, donuts

    Latest police logs include trouble with a transient helping himself to complimentary coffee and donuts at a car dealership, shoplifters making off with over $600 in goods from Walgreens, a young prostitute reported in front of Stones Casino, and a wheelchair vs. scooter collision reported inside Costco at the food court.

    7:04 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Maita Honda on Auburn Blvd. A transient man was reportedly refusing to leave the property of Maita Honda and was “drinking their coffee and eating their donuts.” The man allegedly became verbal with a service manager when asked to leave and had last been seen walking out of the building.

    10:08 a.m., Graffiti Public Property, at Sylvan/Lone Oak. Graffiti was observed by an officer on a sound wall between Lone Oak Drive and Woodside. Additional graffiti was also noted at four other locations in the city the same morning.

    10:51 a.m., Burglary, Gardenvine Ave. A residence was burglarized after keys left inside a car were believed to have been taken and used to enter the home. An unknown white car was also reported parked in front of the house, which was believed to be stolen.

    3:34 p.m., Vandalism, United Auto Body on Auburn Blvd. Police were advised that two teens were jumping on the hood of a vehicle outside an auto body shop on Auburn Boulevard. The owner of the business was reportedly confronting the teens at the time police were contacted.

    4:00 p.m., Petty Theft, Walgreens at Greenback/Dewey. Shoplifters made off with over $600 in goods from the Walgreens store at 6144 Dewey Dr. The pair were described as two black female adults in their early 20s, who left in a silver Chevy Impala with dark tinted windows.

    4:31 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Panda Express on Sunrise Blvd. An employee reported that a 50-year-old transient man came into the business and threw a water bottle at the employee’s head. No injuries were sustained, but the employee wanted to have the incident reported.

    5:57 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Costco Food Court. A Costco member in a wheelchair told police he was run into by another member who was driving an electric shopping cart. The caller said he believed the run-in was intentional and wanted to file an assault report. He said the incident caused additional injury to an existing spine injury, but refused medical attention.

    6:55 p.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Stones Casino on Antelope Rd. A prostitute wearing a black top and velvet shorts was reportedly seen in the parking lot of Stones Casino. She was described as a white or Hispanic woman in her late teens and had last been seen five minutes before police were contacted.

    6:56 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Mariposa Ave. Several men were reportedly seen spraying the front door of a home with a hose and were yelling “open the door.” No weapons were seen.

    9:02 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, Eastgate Ave. The manager of Paradise Oaks Youth Services Center said a client had left on foot and was jumping in front of traffic. The center operates two state-licensed home for at-risk youth in Citrus Heights, one on Uplands Way and another off Antelope Road.

    10:55 p.m., Disturbance Noise, Menke/Amsell. A neighbor was reportedly using a chainsaw and using bright flood lights outside a two-story residence at the end of Amsell Court. Earlier in the day, the same court was the scene of a gas leak that sent flames shooting 20 feet into the air near several homes.

    Latest police logs include reports of a Craigslist car purchase gone awry, videogamers playing too loudly in a garage, a vehicle stolen for the third time from an apartment complex, and a rash of graffiti incidents and homeless-related reports.

    3:10 a.m., Burglary, Lake Tree Ln. A vehicle reportedly smashed into bricks in front of a house on Lake Tree Lane, near Calvary Cemetery. The vehicle, a silver Ford Explorer, was last seen going towards the entrance of the Lakeview Village Mobile Home park.

    6:32 a.m., Disturbance Loitering, Car Czar on Greenback Ln. An ongoing problem was reported to police, involving two men spending the night in a vehicle parked in the parking lot. When police were contacted, one of the men had just been observed changing his clothes in the parking lot, “exposing his bare bottom.”

    6:51 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Ranch Motel on Auburn Blvd. Police were contacted after a woman said a friend she was sharing a room with at the motel “suddenly started yelling” for her and her son to get out of the room. Drugs were possibly involved.

    7:16 a.m., Stolen Vehicle, Sierra Ridge Apartments on Auburn Oaks Ct. A vehicle was reported stolen overnight from the Sierra Ridge Apartment complex, located near the northern border of the city. Police were advised that this was the third time the vehicle had been stolen. No suspect information was known.

    10:43 a.m., Homeless Camp, Butternut Dr. Police were informed that a woman was reportedly camping in the back of her boyfriend’s truck on Butternut Drive.

    12:54 p.m., Petty Theft at Old Navy on Birdcage Centre Ln. Two suspects reportedly had just walked out of Old Navy with $800 to $1000 worth of merchandise. Police were provided with the license plate number of a gray Toyota Camry that was involved.

    4:16 p.m., Shoplifting at Macy’s. Police were contacted after two shoplifting suspects were taken into custody in the loss prevention office at the Macy’s Mens store in Sunrise Mall. Both were allegedly lying about their identification, and one was described as a juvenile.

    5:05 p.m. Graffiti Public Property, Antelope/Saybrook. Graffiti was reported painted on a cable box near Antelope Road and Saybrook Drive. Within 10 minutes, police logs indicate four other graffiti incidents were also reported, including graffiti on a nearby sound wall and two other locations on Auburn Boulevard. Graffiti was also reported on Wonner Way on the inside and outside of a bridge, involving a “phallic symbol” and letters spelling “KAOS.”

    7:39 p.m., Disturbance Noise, Summerplace Dr. Two males in a garage with the door open were reportedly “playing video games and screaming.”

    8:51 p.m., Grand Theft, Spring Creek Apartments on Sun Hill Dr. A woman told police she saw a car for sale on Craigslist and came to an apartment complex to purchase the vehicle for $1700. After handing over the money, the seller reportedly walked inside and then texted her that she “out of luck” and did not give her the car.

    Latest police logs include reports of a transient woman dancing and urinating in the parking lot at Sunrise Mall, a man up in a tree near Sam’s Club accused of trespassing, and security at an apartment complex nabbing two suspects who broke into a laundry room.

    Thursday, September 6, 2018: Total of 53 incidents listed.

    12:41 a.m., Burglary, Birdcage Village Apartments. Police were contacted after apartment security personnel detained a male and female who allegedly broke into the laundry room shortly after midnight.

    10:25 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Bank Of America on Kingswood Dr. An upset customer was refusing to leave after the bank refused to release a hold on a check.

    11:04 a.m., Disturbance Verbal, Super Stop Liquor on Auburn Blvd. A 45-year-old woman was reportedly laying on the floor of the convenience store, “screaming and cursing.” Police were advised that the woman had been drinking.

    11:09 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Basswood Wy. Police were contacted about transient activity at a vacant home near Westwood Park, with homeless individuals reportedly seen regularly going in and out of the house. The caller said the front door “has a padlock on it but the front door is open.”

    11:39 a.m., Petty Theft, Salishan Apartments on Kilarney Ln. A caller told police he had about 120 prescription pain killer pills taken from a bottle and replaced with Asprin pills. The incident occurred “within the last few weeks,” and a roommate was listed as a possible suspect.

    11:55 a.m., Suspicious Circumstances, Sunrise Mall. A transient woman near the Macy’s Men’s store at Sunrise Mall was reportedly “dancing around the parking lot and urinating.” The woman was described as wearing a backpack, shorts and “some sort of hat.”

    12:21 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, former China Buffet on Sunrise Blvd. Police were advised of an ongoing issue with a transient loitering and going through the dumpster at the now-vacant China Buffet building on Sunrise Boulevard. The incident was also listed as a possible code enforcement issue with the vacant business.

    12:59 p.m., Shoplifting, Sunrise Mall. Police were contacted after a suspect was detained for shoplifting at the Macy’s Women’s store on the south side of Sunrise Mall. The suspect did not have ID.

    1:11 p.m., Disturbance Loitering, Sam’s Club on Greenback Ln. A store manager called police to report that a man was in a tree near SAS Shoes. The manager described the individual as a white male adult with “a lot of items,” and said he was willing to sign a trespass notice.

    5:21 p.m., Burglary, 24 Hour Fitness on Auburn Blvd. A man had his car keys reportedly stolen from a gym locker while working out at 24 Hour Fitness on Auburn Boulevard. Front desk staff said similar incidents had been reported at another gym location in Roseville.

    7:55 p.m., Disturbance Verbal, San Simeon Drive. Police were contacted by a man who said his live-in girlfriend had requested to take his car about six hours ago to run a quick errand, but she then allegedly refused to return the car and was not responding to calls or texts.

    8:38 p.m., Suspicious Vehicle at CHPD on Fountain Square Dr. A suspicious vehicle was reported in one of the parking lots outside the police department on Fountain Square Drive. The black Toyota Camry was occupied by a female driver and a male passenger who were both “looking at their phones.”

    9:08 p.m., Disturbance Noise, Sun Hill Drive. Loud music was reportedly being played at a vacant home on Sun Hill Drive over a period of four days. The caller believed the landlord was playing the music as a way “to keep people from breaking inside.”

    11:23 p.m., Driving Under the Influence, Sunrise Woods Apartments on Sunrise Blvd. A woman suspected of DUI was reportedly observed hitting a parked car at the Sunrise Woods Apartment Complex, and then re-parking in the complex. Police were advised that the woman was still on scene at the time of the call.
