Motivational speaker and Mesa Verde High School alumnus Kevin Bracy is coming to Mesa Verde on Saturday, May 18, for a “Talk Positivity Party.”
In celebration of National Mental Health Awareness Month, Bracy announced in an April 30 press release, that he will be coming to Mesa Verde High School to present on topics of positivity, youth mental health, and pediatric chronic illness. His “positivity party” is geared toward children in Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade and is designed to “boost mental health and inspire positivity.”
“With mental health challenges on the rise among young children, the event focuses on empowering attendees through motivational messages and interactive activities,” the release said, adding that the hour-long event promises engaging, family-friendly experiences that offer participation in activities that “promote joy and well-being” while also raising money for the nonprofit It Takes Guts.
It Takes Guts is a nonprofit committed to aiding children and families experiencing pediatric chronic illnesses. According to their website, their vision is to enrich the lives of families struggling with pediatric chronic illness through group gatherings, financial assistance, and their annual Warrior Family Camp.
Funds from the Positivity Party event will go specifically toward sending kids and their families to Warrior Family Camp, where they receive crucial support and meaningful experiences, according to the press release.
The Talk Positivity event will be held at Mesa Verde High School’s large auditorium on Saturday, May 18, from 2 to 3:15 p.m. Find out more information on their event page.
