A traveling circus is returning to the Sunrise Mall this Mother’s Day weekend.
The American Crown Circus & Circo Osorio will be setting up outside the Sunrise Mall beginning on Friday, May 10. Showtimes begin at 5:30 p.m., according to their event page, and run through Monday, May 13. Tickets on opening night start at $17 while supplies last.
The show is billed as family-friendly, and acts include high energy dancing and gymnastics feats, high flying tricks and balancing acts, rope dancing, juggling, sword swallowing, magic acts, and more. One reviewer online said that each year brings new entertainment acts.
Showtimes were originally slated to begin Thursday, May 9 but opening night was postponed until May 10 due to windy conditions in Citrus Heights, according to the circus’s Facebook page. Tickets purchased for Thursday night’s show will be honored on Friday, May 10.
The Las Vegas-based family circus has been performing shows for 21 years, according to their website, and recently expanded into Canada in 2017. Originally, the family’s grandfather began performing with multiple family members in Mexico in the early 1900s. The American Crown Circus regularly tours through the United States and Canada and is slated to perform in several cities in Ontario next month.
