March Events: What’s happening this month in Citrus Heights?

The month of March in Citrus Heights is bustling with a diverse lineup of community events, from early Easter egg hunts to theatrical performances and charitable dinners.

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown. Mesa Verde High School will be showing a production of You’re A Good Man Charlie Brown beginning March 7-9 and on March 14-16. The show begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10 for non-students and $5 for students. A preview night for Mesa Verde Alumni will be held Wednesday, March 6. ­­Mesa Verde High School is located at 7501Carraige Drive in Citrus Heights.

Citrus Heights Little League Opening Day. Citrus Heights Little League is celebrating the opening day of their baseball season on Saturday, March 9. The event will take place at Madera Park and feature local vendors, games, music and food. The festivities run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The park is located at 8040 Wonder St., in Citrus Heights. Community potluck. The Residents’ Empowerment Association of Citrus Heights is hosting a community potluck on March 11 at the Citrus Heights Community Center. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will feature live music, and guest speaker Lorainne Carl, head of community engagement in Rancho Cordova. Guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share. Dear Edwina Jr. Royal Stage Visual and Performing Arts is presenting Dear Edwina Jr.. Shows begin on Thursday, March 21. Tickets and prices may vary. More information is available at royalstage.org. The Royal Stage theater is located at the Sunrise Mall, at 6041 Sunrise Mall behind Macy’s.

Community Awards Dinner. The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual community awards dinner on Thursday, March 21 from 6-9 p.m. at the North Ridge Country Club. The evening will “celebrate our community heroes.” The North Ridge Country Club is located just outside the city limits, at 7600 Madison Ave. More information is posted on the city’s events calendar.

Easter chorus. The Seminary Chorus, a choir composed of men studying pastoral ministry at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, is presenting a concert at St. Mark’s Lutheran church on Friday, March 29 at 6:30 p.m. The choir will present “hymns and anthems in traditional and contemporary styles.” The event is free to the public. St. Mark’s Lutheran Church is located at 7869 Kingswood Drive in Citrus Heights. More information is posted on the church’s Facebook events page.

Easter Egg hunt at Rusch Park. The Kiwanis Club of Citrus Heights is hosting their 40th annual Easter Egg Hunt at Rusch Community Park beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 30. The event will feature vendors, games, music, and of course, multiple Easter egg hunts. More information is posted on the club’s event page.

Annual Spaghetti Dinner. The Citrus Heights Community Marching Band is hosting their annual Spaghetti Feed dinner. The dinner will take place on March 30, from 5-8 p.m., at the Citrus Heights Community Center. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children 12 and under. The Citrus Heights Community Center is located at 6300 Fountain Square Drive in Citrus Heights. More information is posted on the band’s website.
