Sentinel staff report–
The Sunrise Recreation and Park District has announced Kevin Huntzinger as the new District Administrator, replacing Dave Mitchell who retired in June.

Huntzinger took the helm on Sept. 25, 2023, after what the district described in a news release as “an extensive search and selection process to find the ideal candidate to lead the district and continue its mission of providing exceptional recreational and park services to the community.”

In his new role, Huntzinger oversees all district operations, including parks, facilities, and community programs, and is tasked with collaborating closely with the Board of Directors, staff, and community stakeholders.

“I am deeply honored to join the Sunrise Recreation and Park District team and serve the community,” Huntzinger said in last month’s news release. “I eagerly anticipate collaborating with our dedicated staff and partners to ensure our parks and programs remain vibrant, inclusive spaces that contribute to the well-being of our community.”

Huntzinger’s prior experience includes serving as Parks and Recreation Director with the City of Rocklin.
