Through Oct. 2, the Sunrise Mall parking lot is home to a horror-themed circus, with the Paranormal Cirque set up from Sept. 29 through Monday evening.
In a news release, Cirque Italia describes the shows as created for mature audiences, with anyone under 17 required to be accompanied by an adult, due to “adult language and material.” No one under the age of 13 is allowed, according to the show’s website.
“This show is NOT for the faint of heart,” the news release says. “You may have to catch your breath or try to stop your heart from racing during this adrenaline filled performance.”
Shows take place at Sunrise Mall under a Big Top tent, with attendees being taken to “a parallel world and end up surrounded by monstrous creatures with hidden talents that will amaze you with the circus arts,” according to organizers. A promotional video on Cirque Italia’s website shows some traditional acrobatic performances, along with bloody scenes, zombies, flames and more.
A review in the Fort Myers News-Press describes the Paranormal Cirque as “a big top full of monsters, murders and other creatures,” and says the show is “filled with adult language, sexual jokes, racy costumes, and lots of blood, gore and general creepiness.”
