Mesa Verde High School will cut the ribbon for its signature stadium project on Friday, Oct. 13 at 3 p.m.
The bond-funded signature project features a brand new football field, renovated softball fields, scoreboards, track and field amenities, a concession stand, bathrooms, bleachers, press box, and new sound system and stadium lighting. The high school has not had its own stadium for home games since being constructed in the 1970s.
According to statements from San Juan Unified School District Director of Communication Raj Rai, new tennis courts will also be constructed adjacent to a newly-renovated parking lot, and locker rooms also received updated coats of paint and accent walls.
Mesa Verde’s ribbon-cutting ceremony will precede a homecoming Junior Varsity football game at 5 p.m. and Varsity football game at 7 p.m. against Rio Linda High School. Admission to the ribbon cutting ceremony is free to the public, and interested participants can RSVP on Eventbrite.
To attend the first-ever homecoming football game in the new stadium, tickets can be purchased through Mesa Verde’s Athletics webpage. Tickets can also be purchased on Oct. 13 before the game at the ticket booth via credit card payment and are subject to availability.
