Sock Hop held at Citrus Heights Leatherby’s
Leatherby’s Family Creamery on Antelope Road was the scene of classic cars, games, and music on Friday evening for the restaurant’s 2023 Sock Hop event. General Manager Leslie Ray told The Sentinel the event was “a huge success,” and credited the city for providing its new Block Party Trailer for the event.
WW2 veteran celebrates 100th birthday in Citrus Heights
ABC-Sacramento reported last weekend from the scene of a birthday party in Citrus Heights for Francis Bufkin, on his 100th birthday. Bufkin served in the Air Force during World War 2 and was a prisoner of war for 13 months. The TV station briefly interviewed him, where Bufkin can be seen wearing a hat that said “100 never looked so good.” (See video)

Ten recent sales in Citrus Heights over the past week ranged from as low as $245,000 for a condo on Longford Drive to $625,000 for a 2,226-square-foot single-family home on Mesa Oak Way, according to a Sept. 13 report in the Sacramento Bee. (See full story)
