Sentinel staff report–
Just three years after opening, the Chando’s Tacos location at Sylvan Corners will be closing.
News of the impending closure was first published in the Sacramento Business Journal on Aug. 30. The Journal reported that the restaurant is expected to have its final day on Monday, Sept. 4, when the location’s lease ends.
The move follows the closure of Chando’s Cantina in downtown Sacramento last month. Owner Lisandro “Chando” Madrigal told The Journal his decision to close down several locations was due in part to the national economy and increased competition in the restaurant industry.
Madrigal said he will focus his business plan on “markets that are strong,” directing customers to his nearest location at 5329 Sunrise Blvd., in Fair Oaks. He also expanded operations to Georgia, where a new Chando’s Tacos opened this year in Atlanta.
