Sentinel staff report–
Firefighters in Citrus Heights battled a house fire Tuesday afternoon, which began in a backyard patio and then spread into the home and attic.
The incident occurred in a neighborhood near Oak Avenue and Sunrise Boulevard around 1:20 p.m. The Sentinel’s policy is to avoid including the exact location of homes that have had fires, in order to protect residents from looting.
Photos posted by Metro Fire showed damage to the rear patio and roof of the home.
In a tweet following the Aug. 8 incident, Metro Fire said there were no injuries, but several cats were still unaccounted for. The cause of fire is still under investigation.
