A pickup truck collided with a bicyclist at Greenback Lane and Fountain Square Drive shortly after a power outage left signal lights at the intersection inoperable on Tuesday.

A witness who lives nearby said a woman was riding the bicycle, and medical personnel from the nearby Dignity Health office building rendered medical aid. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene, he said.

Citrus Heights Police Sgt. William Dunning told The Sentinel the pedestrian sustained minor injuries. Police could not confirm the woman’s age or if she was transported to a hospital.

A SMUD outage map at the time showed over 7,000 customers were without power, beginning around 11:30 a.m., in a large area between Auburn Boulevard and Greenback Lane. Police were not able to confirm the reason for the outage, or how long it lasted.
