Sentinel staff report–
Police on Monday announced the arrest of an 18-year-old suspect and another juvenile in the Nov. 25 shooting death of a Citrus Heights man.
The shooting death of Joshua Benjamin Gunderson occurred on the 4100 block of 23rd Street in Sacramento last year, prompting a months-long homicide investigation. Sacramento Police said in a June 25 update on Twitter that Steven Jackson, 18, had been arrested on homicide and robbery-related charges in the shooting. The second suspect was also arrested on homicide-related charges, with both being booked into the Sacramento Youth Detention Facility.
As previously reported, the 2022 shooting left Gunderson with a fatal gunshot wound after police said he was shot at least once on the 4100 block of 23rd Street and Sutter Road around 4 p.m.
The victim’s friends reportedly took him to a 76 gas station at Del Rio and Sutterville roads following the shooting, where he was then taken to the hospital by an ambulance. ABC 10 reported the man was initially expected to live, but police said later he was pronounced dead at a hospital.
