Sylvan Oaks Library is one of 13 Sacramento Public Library locations that will be hosting free, healthy lunches for kids over the summer months. A free lunch will be provided to children who are 18 years and younger beginning Tuesday, June 13 and running through Aug. 4.
Lunch will be served Tuesdays through Fridays from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. and children receiving a meal must be physically present, and the lunch must be consumed on site. No registration, or proof of eligibility, identification or residency is required to receive a meal, according to the library’s website.
Sylvan Oaks Library also offers multiple family activities over the summer on top of their free lunch program, including Baby and Family story times, weekly STEM activities for kids, teen and adult book groups, and a monthly Coffee, Donuts and a Movie geared toward adults.
According to the Sacramento Public Library’s website, Lunch at the Library is a project of the California State Library in partnership with the California Library Association. Funding for the food program comes from the State of California.
The Sylvan Oaks Library is located at 6700 Auburn Blvd. in Citrus Heights and is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
