The River City Bank in Citrus Heights was robbed Tuesday, with the suspect still on the loose.
Police said officers arrived to the bank, located at 5650 Sunrise Blvd. just after 1:30 p.m. on April 11, after a man passed a note to a teller demanding money. Authorities said the suspect is a Black adult male in his 30s.
No injuries were reported, and the suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.
Citrus Heights Police Sgt. Eric Dias told The Sentinel Tuesday evening that the investigation was ongoing and said no further details were being released. Dias said the robbery is not connected with a string of local bank robberies in October and November of 2022. River City Bank was also targeted in those crimes, according to a previous report by The Sentinel.
The suspect in last year’s robberies, 32-year-old John Dean Shultz, remains in custody, Dias said.
Police are asking anyone with information to call the Citrus Heights Police Department at (916) 727-5500, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-AA-CRIME. A cash reward is available for tips leading to the arrest of this suspect.
