City to host meeting on new community projects grant

Sentinel staff report–
The City of Citrus Heights will host an upcoming meeting on March 29 to provide information about new funding available for projects and events that “create community connection.”

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, March 29, from 4-5 p.m. at City Hall, located at 6360 Fountain Square Drive. The meeting will also be available for attendance via zoom.

According to a news release, attendees will learn more about the program, the application process, and sample project ideas. Attendees will also be able to “share their ideas and get feedback and support from staff on how to effectively submit an application,” the city said.

Those seeking more information or to register for the event can find additional details on the city’s Eventbrite page. Registrants will be sent information on how to attend via Zoom, if desired.

As previously reported, the city’s new program utilizes $50,000 in funding from American Rescue Plan Act. Eligibility is open for any 501(c)3 nonprofit community group or organization.

Applications to fund community projects can be submitted through April 14 at 4 p.m. Details must be listed showing how the project or event to be held will “create community connection and engagement.”

More information is posted on the city’s website: citrusheights.net/1233/Community-Projects-Grant.
