Sentinel staff report– Congressman Ami Bera (D-Sacramento) will be speaking in Citrus Heights on March 14 during a luncheon hosted by the Chamber of Commerce.
The Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce announced the upcoming appearance in a March 3 email update that said Bera is slated to speak at the organization’s monthly luncheon, which is open to Chamber members as well as non-members. The event will be hosted at the Citrus Heights Community Center, located at 6300 Fountain Square Drive.
Bera will be providing a federal and legislative update, according to the Chamber’s website.
Congressman Bera represents Citrus Heights and surrounding areas in the U.S. House of Representatives for California’s 6th Congressional District. He was first elected to Congress in 2012 when he unseated Dan Lungren in a close race for what was then Congressional District 7.
The March 14 luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the luncheon beginning at noon. Early registration fees are $25, or $5 more if paid after March 9. Tickets can be purchased online through EventBrite.
The local Chamber hosts luncheons every month to provide updates and offer area professionals and business owners an opportunity to network. Past speakers have included Chief of Police Alex Turcotte, Citrus Heights Historical Society President Larry Fritz, and others.
