Local events are revving up in Citrus Heights during the month of March, with a new comedy showing at Theatre in the Heights, several events at Rusch Park, and more.
Veterans Caravan
Veterans are invited to caravan with Jeanne Rounsavell to the Sacramento Valley National Cemetery to honor the late founder of the Veterans Community Center, Jim Rounsavell, and other veterans on Friday, March 10. The Veterans Community Center is located at 6921 Sylvan Rd. in Citrus Heights. (See Center’s website)
Comedy showing
Theatre in the Heights will be presenting Exit the Body, by Fred Carmichael. The comedy opens on Friday, March 3 and continues through March 26. Showtimes vary. Theater in the Heights is located at 8215 Auburn Blvd. in Citrus Heights. (See website)
3-point shot contest
Mesa Verde High School is hosting a 3-point shot contest for students in 6–12th grade. The contest will be held in the Mesa Verde gym at 5:30 p.m. on March 10, with a chance to win a PS5 gaming system. Mesa Verde is located at 7501 Carriage Drive. (See event listing on Facebook)
High School Theater

Little League Opening Day
Citrus Heights Little League and Sunrise Little League will both be hosting opening day activities on Saturday, March 11, to celebrate opening day of little league season. Opening day activities are open to the public and include bounce houses, carnival games, barbeque food, vendors and of course baseball games.
Opening day begins at 9 a.m. CHLL will host their event at Madera Park, 8046 Wonder St., while SLL will host their event at C-Bar-C Park, 8275 Oak Ave.
Genealogy Workshop
Root Cellar, a local genealogical society, will host a workshop on March 16 from 2-4 p.m. at the Sylvan Community Center. Anyone is welcome. The Sylvan Community Center is located at 7521 Community Drive. (See website)
Town Hall Meeting
State Assemblyman Josh Hoover is inviting residents to attend a town hall meeting at Citrus Heights City Hall on Friday, March 17 from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Citrus Heights City Hall is located at 6360 Fountain Square Drive. Registration is requested. (See website)
Spaghetti Fundraiser
The Citrus Heights Community Marching Band is holding a spaghetti dinner fundraiser at the Community Center on March 18. Shamrock Hunt
The Kaleidoscope Holistic Learning Center will host its third annual Shamrock Hunt at Rusch Park on March 18. The event is a free and open to the community and festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. (See event page)
The Wall That Heals
A mobile replica of the Vietnam Veteran Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. will be coming to Ruch Park. The mobile memorial will be open to the public from March 30 through April 2. An opening ceremony is also slated for March 29 at 7:30 p.m. Along with the wall, the exhibit includes a Vietnam Memorial mobile education center. (See website for more)
