A Citrus Heights man was arrested Friday afternoon after police responded to reports of gunfire at a residence near Twin Oaks Avenue and Harper Way.

Citrus Heights Police Sgt. Kane Kissam told The Sentinel in a phone call Friday that one adult male was taken into custody without incident after he fired a gun in his backyard. No one else was at the residence at the time, and no injuries were reported, Kissam said.

Nearby residents reported a heavy police presence, and a photo shared by a resident on social media showed at least eight police vehicles at the scene. Police also requested a Metro Fire unit as a precaution, Kissam said.

No further information about the individual or any prior arrests was provided by police. A Sacramento County probation officer at the scene told The Sentinel he was not authorized to comment.
