Rusch Park sees flooding amid heavy rains
Creeks spilled over their banks at Rusch Park on Saturday amid heavy rains, as a downpour drenched Citrus Heights and the surrounding region. Flooding could be seen at various areas around Rusch Park, with reports of flooding also heard elsewhere around the city.
Obituary: Hendrik Frederik Blom (1948-2022)
Henk Blom, who practiced orthodontics in Citrus Heights for many years, passed away on Dec. 12 after fighting Parkinson’s Disease, according to an obituary published on Dec. 29. Blom immigrated with his family from the Netherlands in 1961, became a citizen in 1970, and graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Botany. He pursued dentistry and received a degree in Orthodontics in 1979. He is survived by his wife, three children, and five grandchildren. (See full obituary)
City releases annual financial report
The City of Citrus Heights on Dec. 28 released its audited annual comprehensive financial report (ACFR), posting the 173-page document on its website for public viewing. The report was independently audited by Lance, Soll & Lunghard, LLP, which found the city’s financial statements to “present fairly, in all material respects, the respective financial position” of the city. City Hall closed Monday for New Year’s
City Hall will be closed Monday, Jan. 2, in observance of New Year’s Day, according to the city’s online calendar. The building was also closed Friday, Dec. 30.
