Citrus Heights is gearing up for the holiday season in December with a tree lighting ceremony, holiday craft fairs and parties, concerts, Santa breakfasts and more. Dive into the festivities at one of these upcoming events.

Photos with Santa at the Sunrise Mall: Kids can have their photo taken with Santa at the Sunrise Mall from Nov. 18 through Dec. 24, between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome but residents can also register for a photo with Santa in advance.

Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and Then Some): Theatre in the Heights will be showing productions of “Every Christmas Story Ever Told (and Then Some)” from Dec. 2 to 24. Dates and showtimes vary. The comedy production features three actors performing every Christmas story ever told, plus Christmas traditions from around the world.

Holiday Boutique and Craft Fair: Foundation Christian Church off Antelope Road is hosting its annual Holiday Boutique and Craft Fair on Saturday, Dec. 3. Residents can shop for local crafts, food and other goods and kids can take free photos with Santa. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Friends of the Library Book Sale: Sylvan Oaks Library is hosting a Friends of the Library book sale on Saturday, Dec. 3. Books of all genres will be available to purchase at deep discounts. Doors open at 11 a.m.

Holiday Open House: Single Mom Strong is hosting an open house with free photos with Santa. The event takes place Sunday, Dec. 4 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at the Empowerment Center in Citrus Heights.

According to event information, residents can enjoy refreshments and visit with other local single moms. Kids can enjoy fun activities, from building a gingerbread village to candy cane fishing and more. The event is free, but registration is highly encouraged as space is limited.

Tuba Christmas Concert: The Citrus Heights Community Marching Band is hosting a Christmas concert on Saturday, Dec. 3 at Rusch Park Auditorium. The concert will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. and is free to the public. Food, snacks and drinks will be for sale, with proceeds benefiting the Citrus Heights Community Marching Band.

Tree lighting: The City of Citrus Heights is hosting a tree lighting ceremony on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall. Families can enjoy the tree lighting and experience the “Miracle Forest,” a magical forest of decorated trees and holiday characters. The event will feature music from the Citrus Heights Community Marching Band, an appearance by Santa and free hot cocoa and cookies.

Walk-Thru Nativity: St. Marks Lutheran Church is hosting a Walk-Thru Live Nativity experience where residents can embark on an up-close and personal walk-through of the Biblical Nativity story, complete with periodic narration. Hot drinks and snacks will also be available. The event will be held Dec. 10 from 5-7 p.m.

Brunch with Santa: Sunrise Recreation and Park District is hosting a Brunch with Santa where kids can join Mr. Mrs. Clause for photos, join in reindeer games, eat brunch and make a craft or two. The event will be held Sunday, Dec. 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Rusch Park Community Center.

Santa breakfast. Citrus Heights Little League is hosting a Santa breakfast in support of WEAVE at Foundation Christian Church on Saturday, Dec. 10. A hot pancake breakfast will be served, and donations can be dropped off for women and children of WEAVE.

The Nutcracker: The Sac Civic Ballet will perform the classic tale of the Nutcracker on Dec. 15 at 7 p.m. The first 100 children will receive a Nutcracker book. Families can also enter to win a $250 gift card.

Christmas Party: The Citrus Town Center will hold a Merry Little Christmas Party on Saturday, Dec. 17 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., featuring photos with Santa, live music, crafts and games and giveaways.
