By Sara Beth Williams– Citrus Heights is gearing up for the holidays in November with multiple craft fairs, food, toy and blood drives, and other holiday-themed community events.
Craft Fairs:
Lakeview Village. A craft and bake sale will be hosted inside Lakeview Village from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5.

Messiah Lutheran Church. A craft fair and bake sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Messiah Lutheran Church.

Rusch Park. The Sunrise Recreation and Park District is hosting their 8th annual Arts and Crafts Fair on Saturday, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Sunrise Patio Room at Rusch Community Park. Families can shop, enjoy train rides and a possible drop in from Santa.

Sunrise Mall is hosting a Harvest Craft Show from 9:15 to 2 p.m. on Nov. 13. The event will feature a Kids Zone, food trucks, artisan crafters, specialty foods and more.

FUNDRAISERS
Car Show. California Car Shows is hosting its 11th annual KARS for Kids car show from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, at El Tapatio Restaurant. The car show will include a food and toy drive, and will also feature music, food and classic cars.

Food Drive. Sunrise Marketplace is teaming up with 101.5 K-Hits for a Turkey & Fixin’s food drive to help support the Sunrise Christian Food Ministry. The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 12, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Birdcage shopping center.

Blood Drive. 98 Rock in partnership with Vitalant, will be hosting an annual Rock ‘n’ Roll Up Your Sleeve blood drive on Friday, Nov. 25 and Saturday Nov. 26 at Marketplace at Birdcage.

Performances. The “Art of Murder,” directed by Blake Flores, is still ongoing at Theatre in the Heights, with showtimes extending through Nov. 13.

Skate Party. Sunrise Rollerland and the Sunrise MarketPlace are hosting a “Stranger Things” skate party on Nov. 10. The event will feature a Stranger Things costume contest, games, and prizes. The first of two sessions begins at 5 p.m, Participants must book online as space is limited. Tickets are $10.

Veterans Day. The American Legion Post 637 will host a Veterans Day ceremony at Sylvan Cemetery on Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. The event will not include a march this year.

Turkey Shoot. The Sacramento Valley Darting Association is hosting their annual Turkey Shoot on Saturday, Nov. 19, at Phat Chads restaurant. Arrive at 12 p.m. to sign up. Darting competition begins at 12:30 p.m. There is a $10 buy-in.

Vikingfest. The Sacramento Sons of Norway are hosting Vikingfest, an event that will feature Norwegian food and baked goods and Scandinavian crafts and merchandise. The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 19 at the Masonic Hall.
