Five teens, including two from Citrus Heights, were arrested following what police say was a Sunday-night vandalism spree where about $6,000 in Halloween lawn decorations were damaged.
The Roseville Police Department said in a Facebook Post that the incidents occurred on Oct. 30 between 10-11 p.m. in the Fiddyment Farms and Sun City areas of Roseville.
Police said multiple residences were hit and home surveillance footage showed a “dark colored Toyota Prius with several male occupants involved in the vandalisms.” One camera reportedly showed a suspect using a knife to slash inflatable decor, while three suspects stole pumpkins off a porch and smashed them in the street.
The vehicle was spotted by an officer on Foothills Boulevard near Junction Boulevard, with the vehicle being stopped on Pilgrims Drive. Officers found pumpkins, lawn decor and several baseball bats with orange stains in the vehicle.
The five teens arrrested were Vadim Linnik of Antelope, Arthur Lutsyk of North Highlands, Marian Pristupa and Vladimir Shmat of Citrus Heights, and Andrey Nesteruk of Roseville. The teens were all age 19, except for Shmat who is 18.
The teens were arrested and booked into the South Placer Jail on suspicion of felony vandalism, prowling on private property and conspiracy, police said.
Authorities believe other vandalisms may also have occurred the same night, by the same suspects. Anyone with decorations that were vandalized is asked to file a police report.
