Police confirmed Monday that a man was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head outside the Citrus Heights police station on Fountain Square Drive early Sunday morning, Oct. 9.
The man was in his mid-60s, and police Lt. Chad Morris said authorities do not suspect foul play. A firearm was recovered at the scene, Morris said.
The incident is under investigation, and police say it appears the man took his own life. The man’s identity will be released by the coroner’s office, and Morris referred any further questions to the coroner.
