The nonprofit Citrus Heights Homeless Assistance Resource Team (HART) is putting on a spaghetti fest dinner this month to help raise funds for homeless assistance and prevention programs.
The Spaghetti Fest dinner will be held Friday evening on Sept. 23 at the Citrus Heights Community Center. The event is normally held annually, but this is the first time the event has returned since 2019, due to pandemic-related restrictions.
The event will feature live music, a silent auction, and a dessert bar. HART board member Kathilynn Carpenter said a total of 325 guests are expected to attend the event.
Funds from the event help support the Underground Clothing Connection, local winter sanctuaries, and housing assistance, all programs which HART uses to assist current and potential homeless individuals and families.
“What we do is not only help get homeless off the street — which is much more effective than moving people around from place to place — we help prevent homelessness,” Carpenter said.
The Citrus Heights Community Center is located at 6300 Fountain Square Drive. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. Event and ticket information can be found on HART’s website under the Spaghetti Fest tab.
