City Council members will meet Thursday evening to consider selecting a new city manager, along with making appointments to various regional boards and committees and hearing an update on final guidelines for federal relief funds.
Below is a summary of what’s included in the council’s agenda packet for Jan. 13, 2022.
Presentation. The meeting is slated to begin with a recognition of outgoing mayor Steve Miller, who served a one-year term as mayor last year and was replaced in December by Porsche Middleton.
Remote Meetings. The council will consider approving a resolution to continue remote meetings, in accordance with state law, during the current state of emergency.
Appointments. The council is also slated to make appointments to various regional boards and committees, as is done annually each January. Council members will be appointed to the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District’s board of directors, as well as the Sacramento Regional County Sanitation District and Sacramento Area Sewer District, along with the Sacramento Transportation Authority and the Sacramento Area Council of Governments.
City Manager. Over eight months since then-City Manager Chris Boyd announced his retirement, the City Council is slated to consider approving a four-year contract with Ashley “Ash” Feeney to become the next city manager. Feeney is currently serving as assistant city manager for the City of Davis. The proposed contract lists a starting salary of $240,000, along with 160 hours of leave accruing annually, a 5% 401(a) match, health, and other benefits. Federal funds. The meeting is slated to conclude with a department report from the administrative services department regarding final guidelines for the American Rescue Plan Act, which allocated $15.6 million to go to Citrus Heights.
