Sentinel staff report–
The popular “Jurassic Empire” drive-thru dinosaur exhibit will be coming to Citrus Heights at the end of January, with plans to set up in the Sunrise Mall parking lot.
According to an announcement on Jurassic Empire’s Facebook page and website, the drive-thru event will be set up Friday-Sunday on Jan. 21-23 and Thursday-Sunday on Jan. 27-30.
A description online invites attendees to “experience over 60 moving, breathing, massive dinosaurs from the comfort and safety of your own vehicle.” The tour takes anywhere from 15 minute to an hour, depending on the amount of vehicle traffic.
Tickets can be purchased online for $45 per vehicle on weekdays and $55 on weekends, for up to 7 passengers. Vehicles with up to 14 passengers can also register, for $30 more per vehicle.
The drive-thru event came to Roseville last January and drew long lines of cars and vans. Attendees remained in their vehicles and traveled slowly through the exhibit, with windows and sunroofs open.
The traveling dino exhibits are current set up in Southern California, but will travel to Northern California later this month. Additional cities will also be announced soon, according to Jurassic Empire’s website.
