Donations sought by Dec. 14th for Citrus Heights ‘Holiday Cheer’

Sentinel staff report–
Those wishing to donate gifts or food boxes for the city’s 2021 “Operation Holiday Cheer,” formerly known as the Holiday Referral program, have until Tuesday to do so.

The annual effort is a partnership between the city, police department, local service clubs, businesses, community members, and schools. The program seeks to provide assistance to local families who have experienced a hardship over the past year, with benefiting families being nominated by a friend or other acquaintance to qualify.

In a post on the city’s website, the city said the program is “entirely funded by generous donations from people like you.” Items sought include gifts, food boxes, gift cards, household supplies and new toys.

Gift drop-offs are by appointment only this year, with available dates and times posted online. For more, see: citrusheights.net/831/Operation-Holiday-Cheer.
