Shoppers line up outside Game Stop in Citrus Heights on Thanksgiving Day
While other stores were closed for the holiday, ABC 10 reported shoppers lined up outside the Game Stop store in the Citrus Town Center on Thanksgiving Day. One shopper interviewed said he was number 16 of 18 people in line, making off with a new Play Station 5 console and several games. (See video)
Over 26,000 participate in annual Run to Feed the Hungry event
The Sacramento Bee reported Thursday that more than 26,000 people came out to the 28th annual Run to Feed the Hungry event on Thanksgiving morning. The event was held in Sacramento, but attracted participants from other areas. A woman from Citrus Heights and her family were featured in a Bee photo taken during the event. (See story)
City promotes History & Arts Grant Program
In a Thanksgiving-themed post on social media, the city said on Friday said it was “grateful for our community’s rich history,” and promoted a grant program designed to encourage history and arts in the city. According to the city’s website, eligible applicants include residents, local artists, businesses and other groups. Eligible projects can receive up to $10,000 for public art creation, theater production, public art shows, historical preservation needs and other projects. (See more)
