Sentinel staff report–
Shoppers dropping by Sunrise Mall for the second day of a publicized craft show last weekend reported finding nothing set up in the parking lot, after an event organizer said the show was mistakenly advertised as a two-day event.
“We thought that was changed on the website. We apologize for the mistake,” Living Smart Farmers Markets Director Marie V. Hall told The Sentinel in an email Wednesday. “We will be sure to go through the website and make the corrections so that this does not happen again.”
Hall said the craft show was tied to the weekly farmers markets at the mall, which are held on Saturdays. She said the markets were at one time held on Sundays as well, but organizers “could not get enough vendors and customers to keep it going.”
The Sentinel had published an article in advance of the craft show listing event dates of Nov. 6-7, based on event information published on Living Smart’s website. The show ended up only happening on November 6.
Publisher’s note: Accurate reporting is a matter we take seriously, as it’s critical to report factual information our readers can rely on. The Sentinel’s policy is to only include event information if it has been confirmed by a reputable source, and in this case our Nov. 3 article about the craft show was based on event postings by both the Sunrise MarketPlace and Living Smart, which hosts the weekly farmers markets. We apologize for any inconvenience to our readers who relied on this information.
