Mayor highlights achievements in State of the City address
Mayor Steve Miller shared an overview of the past year’s happenings on Monday night as part of the city’s annual “State of the City” broadcast, listing month-by-month highlights including the opening of Green Acres plant nursery, boosting police funding, completing the Sunrise Tomorrow plan to redevelop Sunrise Mall, and the launch of a new “Connect Citrus Heights” endeavor. The broadcast also featured a wide range of updates from the city’s interim manager, new police chief, various city staff, neighborhood leaders and community members. Citrus Heights businessman recognized with ’40 under 40′ award
The 29-year-old founder of MealPro, Andy Sartori, has been recognized among the 2021 winners of the Sacramento Business Journal’s “40 under 40” awards. Obituary: Dale Gray Barngrover (1973-2021)
Citrus Heights resident and California native Dale Barngrover passed away last month at age 48, according to an obituary published Sunday in The Sacramento Bee. Barngrover held a degree from Sacramento State University in religious studies and enjoyed “researching the creation of cartoons, comics and superheroes.” He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. at St. Mel Catholic Church, where he was a member. (See full obituary)
