Citrus Heights to host State of the City broadcast on Monday
The City of Citrus Heights will hold its second annual “State of the City” address on Monday night, broadcasting the event live online. Residents interested in watching the broadcast are asked to register online at citrusheights.net. The event is slated to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 and will feature Mayor Steve Miller and other city leaders as they share plans for Citrus Heights. (See promo video)
Obituary: Cheryl Ford Filipiec (1945-2021)
Cheryl Filipiec passed away in Citrus Heights on Oct. 1, according to an obituary published in The Sacramento Bee this weekend. Filipiec was born in Texas and while taking premed classes at the University of Texas she took a drawing class and decided to change her major to fine art. After graduating, she spent her life as an artist, specializing in watercolor. She leaves behind her husband, five children, as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren. (See full obituary)
Citrus Heights woman arrested in Lincoln on drug charges
Gold Country Media reported in police logs last week that a 49-year-old woman from Citrus Heights was arrested in Lincoln on Oct. 30 for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia in a commercial area at Lincoln Boulevard and Sterling Parkway. She was identified as Debbie Hicks, and was released on promise to appear in court. (See police logs)
