Citrus Heights police early Saturday morning responded to a report of a man lying unresponsive on the sidewalk in the vicinity of the 7440 Club and Salishan Apartments on Auburn Boulevard.
Police Lt. Wesley Herman told The Sentinel in an email that police were notified just before 2 a.m. He said responding officers found an intoxicated Hispanic male in his mid-twenties lying on the sidewalk. The man was breathing, but not responsive, and was transported to a hospital.
“The man was intoxicated when he was transported to the hospital and so it is still unknown if he was in a physical altercation or perhaps fell,” the lieutenant said. “Officers will be following up with the man to obtain his statement and determine if a crime occurred.”
Photographs shared on social media by 911 Action Photography show emergency vehicles near the sign at the entrance of Salishan Apartments, and one police vehicle at the 7440 Club.
Herman said employees of the nearby 7440 Club stated they did not witness any altercation involving the man and club owner Rocky Moffitt posted a statement on social media Saturday saying the incident is not related to the club.
“The man never was at the bar nor did anyone from the bar have anything to do with this,” he said.
The 7440 Club has been at the center of two previous reports by The Sentinel involving two separate shootings this year. Suspects have been arrested in both incidents.
