Tickets remain for drive-in concert at Sunrise Mall

The community’s first concert of the season will kick off outside Sunrise Mall on Saturday, May 22, with a little over 100 tickets remaining.

As of press time Thursday, event ticketing site Eventbrite shows 110 tickets remaining. VIP tickets appear sold out at a $125 ticket price. The remaining spots are being sold at $50 for each vehicle.

Activities are scheduled to begin with a VIP event at 3 p.m. and general admission starting an hour later at 4 p.m. The event will conclude at 7 p.m.

The Citrus Heights Community Marching Band will open the event with headlining act, Journey Revisited, performing live. The band bills itself as “Replicating the sound of classic Journey,” according to their website.

The event in organized by the Citrus Heights Chamber of Commerce and aims to raise funds for local businesses hurt by the pandemic.

According to an event flier, a maximum of 180 tickets are being sold, with social distancing and safety precautions in place. Funds raised from the event will go to the Chamber’s COVID Community Relief Fund, which was created to help businesses hurt by the pandemic.

Following the concert, Chamber Executive Director Diane Ebbitt-Riehle said a notice will be sent to all local businesses with information on how to apply for a relief grant from the Chamber.

“The more money we raise the more money we can give out,” she said in a prior interview.

Tickets can be purchased online through the Chamber’s Eventbrite page.
