Iconic SoCal donut chain seeks expansion in Sacramento area
Randy’s Donuts, known for its iconic massive donut mounted atop its drive-thru locations in Southern California, announced plans to expand to the Sacramento area in a KCRA interview last week. When asked a question about ideal store placement, owner Mark Kelegian hinted at a local location saying: “We think of Elk Grove, Citrus Heights — we think of a lot of the major markets in the surrounding area including downtown.” (See KCRA video)
Crepes & Burgers opens new Folsom location
Crepes & Burgers, which opened its first location on Auburn Boulevard in Citrus Heights four years ago, has now expanded with a third location in Folsom at 313 Iron Point Road. The restaurant announced the opening in a Facebook post on Saturday, with hours posted from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. (See post)
Citrus Heights woman among suspects charged in rideshare scam
NBC-Boston reported Friday that federal prosecutors charged a Citrus Heights woman along with 18 others, accusing them of using an elaborate scheme to defraud ride-share companies using GPS spoofing technology and stolen customer identities over the course of two years. (See NBC story)
Obituary: Lois Frazier (1921-2021)
Lois Frazier, a San Juan High School alumna, passed away on May 1 at the age of 99. Her obituary published in The Sacramento Bee on Sunday said she became an “Air Force bride” and later settled in Fair Oaks after her husband’s retirement in 1961. She was active in many civic organizations, and is survived by two children and their grandchildren. A funeral and celebration of life will be held May 10 at Mount Vernon Memorial, beginning at 1 p.m. (See full obituary)
