Online voting begins for selecting ‘Best of Citrus Heights’ businesses

By Rylie Friesen–
Beginning this month and continuing through May 31, the Citrus Heights community can cast votes online for local businesses they feel are worthy to win this year’s “Best of Citrus Heights” award from the local Chamber of Commerce.

To vote in the competition, participants are invited to visit the Chamber’s newly redesigned website and select their choice for best business in several dozen categories this year. Choices range from just two businesses listed in smaller categories, like automotive collision and communication services, to more than 10 business choices in other categories.

The restaurant category gives voters a choice of seven local restaurants: Red Lobster, Sammy’s Restaurant + Bar, Texas Roadhouse, Erica’s Cafe, El Tapatio Restaurant, Boston’s Pizza Restaurant and Sports Bar, and R Vida Cantina. Another nine restaurants are also located in a separate “Quick Service Food Services” category.

Voters can also vote for their favorite publications, including the Citrus Heights Sentinel. Readers who enjoy The Sentinel can vote under the “publications” category. There is also a category for churches.

The Chamber says all businesses in Citrus Heights are eligible to have their name listed among voting choices, with businesses not currently listed able to request to be added to the list by emailing the Chamber of Commerce.

In a news release, the Chamber said winning businesses this year will be honored on June 8, either at an awards luncheon or virtually. Winners will be contacted prior to the event, and will earn the right to use the Chamber’s “best of” business logos in marketing materials.

The Chamber’s “Best of Citrus Heights” awards have typically been held annually, although not in recent years. This year’s awards are believed to be the first since 2018.
