Porsche Middleton, who was elected to the Citrus Heights City Council in 2018 and subsequently selected as vice mayor by her colleagues this year, was featured in a Sacramento Bee article as the only Black woman currently serving on a city council in the Sacramento region. (See article)

Husband of Citrus Heights police detective dies after battle with cancer
The Citrus Heights Police Department posted condolences on Tuesday after the death of Greg Parks, a sergeant with the Marysville Police Department. The local department said the sergeant’s wife, Shannon Parks, is a detective with CHPD. He leaves behind six children. (See Facebook post)

Obituary: Daniel W. Keating (1950-2021)
Citrus Heights resident Daniel Walter Keating passed away at his home on March 3, according to an obituary published Sunday in The Sacramento Bee. Keating volunteered with a local booster club and also coached youth baseball. He is survived by his wife, three children and seven grandchildren. (See full obit)
