Sentinel staff report–
Heavy police activity involving three helicopters and numerous units from multiple agencies responded to a residential neighborhood in Citrus Heights Friday afternoon in search of multiple suspects who fled after stealing thousands of dollars in products from a store in Roseville.

Roseville Police spokesman Rob Baquera told The Sentinel the incident began just after 4 p.m. on Dec. 11, when five suspects stole more than $5,000 in products from a sporting goods store on Stanford Ranch Road.

A patrol officer soon caught up with the suspects’ vehicle as it traveled towards Citrus Heights on Interstate 80, but the officer “terminated the pursuit due to losing sight of the vehicle,” Baquera said. However, the suspects’ vehicle then crashed into another vehicle in Citrus Heights, apparently at the intersection of Antelope Road and Mariposa Avenue.

Around 4:30 p.m., at least one suspect was seen in handcuffs in the neighborhood of Saint Andrews Court, where a large group of law enforcement units from the Citrus Heights Police Department, Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department and the Roseville Police Department were on scene. Units from the California Highway Patrol were also seen responding to the area.

Baquera said four suspects were arrested and medically cleared before being taken to the South Placer Jail “on multiple charges including organized retail theft.” He said one suspect was still at large, as of 6:45 p.m. Friday.
