The Citrus Heights Police Department released photos of a local man and woman who were arrested the day before Thanksgiving on charges of lewd acts with children and possession of obscene material.
In a news release Thursday afternoon, police said the pair were arrested by detectives on November 25. The department is seeking additional information from the public, and to find more alleged victims.
The suspects, identified as 33-year-old Robert Mathis and 40-year-old Erin Mathis, are accused of “multiple counts of lewd acts with a child under ten years of age and possession of obscene matter.” Police said three alleged victims have been identified, ranging in age from 3 to 10 years old.
Inmate records show both suspects have been charged with two felonies each, involving at least one lewd or lascivious act with a child under 14 and possession or control of “obscene matter depicting persons under 18.” Bail for Robert Mathis is set at $7 million, while bail for Erin Mathis is set at $1.8 million.
