In advance of Veterans Day, the Citrus Heights Community Marching Band will be performing a concert outside Sunrise Mall this Saturday to honor those who have served in the country’s armed forces.
The event will he held in the parking lot between Red Robin and Firestone at 5 p.m., according to an announcement sent out by the band. A photograph posted to social media Sunday by band director Kody Tickner shows the organization plans to use flags for all branches of the military and banners with stars and stripes as a background during the performance.
Concertgoers will be able to stay in their vehicles for the event in order to comply with social distancing measures to limit the spread of COVID-19.
“Come listen to fun, patriotic music by the Citrus Heights Community Marching Band from the comfort and safety of your vehicle!” the announcement read.
The band bills itself as “the only free, all ages community marching band in the country” and performs in parades and festivals throughout Sacramento, according to the band’s website. Several of the bands events have been cancelled this year due to COVID-19.
This weekend’s performance is in honor of Veterans Day which will be on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Sylvan Cemetery will be hosting a ceremony on Veterans Day at 11 a.m.
