Citrus Heights to host virtual State of the City address

Updated Oct. 20th, 10:17 a.m.–
The City of Citrus Heights will be hosting a “State of the City” address on Tuesday, featuring updates from the mayor, city manager and chief of police.

City spokeswoman Nichole Baxter said the interactive event will be broadcast live online at 6 p.m., Oct. 20, and will last around 30 to 45 minutes. Live participants will be able to weigh in on polls during the event.

Pre-registration is required to log in via Zoom, but a recording will also be available on Youtube afterwards.

Baxter said the mayor will recap the year with a month-by-month timeline and explain the city’s strategic planning process. She said City Manager Chris Boyd will dive deeper into the initiatives, “with an emphasis on economic development, fiscal prudence and government transparency.”

She said there will also be some videos shared to spotlight the community.

Baxter said the event will be “definitely different” from the annual State of the City address typically given by the mayor at a Chamber of Commerce luncheon. She said the city is hopeful the virtual aspect of the event will draw more viewers.
