Roseville police on Tuesday announced the arrest of Citrus Heights resident Angelica Garcia, 35, in connection with a shooting last week at a hotel in Roseville.
Garcia was one of three suspects apprehended in connection to the homicide, according to Roseville police. Garcia’s husband Michael L. Fotofili, 37, and Anders Johansson, 28, were also arrested as suspects in the Sept. 18 incident at Home 2 Suites hotel in Roseville.
Following the shooting, authorities located and arrested Garcia and Fotofili at a hotel in South San Francisco, according to a report by Gold Country Media. Johansson was later apprehended in Reno, after leading local authorities on a short chase.
Roseville Police Department Public Information Officer Rob Baquera told Gold Country Media that Fotofili and Garcia had rented a room at the Roseville hotel Sept. 17, where Johansson and Fotofili were seen entering the room at 7 a.m., twenty minutes before the victim. Gunshots were heard at the location just after 7:30 a.m. Sept. 18, according to the report.
Fotofili was on parole for assault with a deadly weapon and felon in possession of a firearm. He was also awaiting trial for pimping and pandering. Garcia was reportedly on probation for drug related charges.
Gold Country Media reported several law enforcement agencies assisted Roseville Police in the case, including Sacramento Police, California Department of Corrections Fugitive Apprehension Team, San Mateo County Gang Task Force, and Reno Police.
Authorities believe the three suspects were planning to rob the victim, and are asking the community for any additional information about other crimes the trio may be connected with.
“We have reason to believe the suspects could have been involved in additional criminal activity and we’re looking for victims,” Roseville police said in a news release on Tuesday.
