The future site of a new Dutch Bros coffee drive-thru is beginning to take shape, as the building’s wood frame can now be seen erected in the Summerhills Plaza near Interstate 80 and Antelope Road.

The location’s operator, Steve Grubbs, was unable to be reached by The Sentinel to confirm an opening date, but developer Ralph Deppisch of Cliffhaven Companies previously told The Sentinel construction would take about five months.

Plans approved by the city’s Planning Commission last November call for construction of an 800-square-foot building, with a two-lane drive-thru and patio seating. The site is located at 7849 Lichen Drive, with Dutch Bros also operating a location at 7445 Madison Ave., in Citrus Heights.

The new construction comes as a number of other tenants in the center renew their leases. Deppisch said O’Reilly’s Auto Parts and Wendy’s renewed their leases for another five years, Dollar Tree recently remodeled, and Roundtable expanded their location. Deppisch said Cliffhaven is investing in the center and close to making more announcements about future plans.

Deppisch said the operator for the Dutch Bros location also runs several other locations and is “very community oriented.” Dutch Bros is known for donating proceeds to various charitable causes.
