Updated 3:23 p.m., Sept. 17–
Sentinel staff report– Officers with the Citrus Heights Police Department arrested a suspect Wednesday after he led police on a vehicle and foot pursuit.

Police said in a post on social media that the suspect was on parole and driving a stolen vehicle. Lieut. Michael Wells later told The Sentinel by email that the 23-year-old driver was responsible for a recent grand theft and officers had attempted to pull the vehicle over for an enforcement stop.

The vehicle then fled at a “high rate of speed,” before the driver fled on foot on the 7600 block of Park Drive, located off Sylvan Road. Officers set up a perimeter and located the suspect “within minutes,” Wells said.

The suspect, who was not identified by name, was taken into custody for charges including grand theft, evading, and being in possession of a stolen vehicle.
