The Men’s Wearhouse location across from Sunrise Mall has shuttered its doors amid parent company, Tailored Brands, filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this month.
Exterior signage at the Citrus Heights location has been removed from the building, and the interior tables and display racks could be seen piled up along a far wall last week.
Another Men’s Wearhouse location in Natomas has also closed its doors permanently, and the company said in July it planned to close up to 500 stores.
“The coronavirus pandemic has forced people to stay in. Our clothes are better suited to going out,” an Aug. 3 tweet by Men’s Wearhouse said, announcing its bankruptcy filing. The company’s stated goal is to restructure and become a “stronger Company that has the financial and operational flexibility to compete and win in the rapidly evolving retail environment.”
A news release by Tailored Brands said the company expects to reduce its debt by at least $630 million through restructuring. Tailored Brands is the parent corporation to Men’s Wearhouse, Moores Clothing for Men, Jos. A. Bank, and K & G Fashion Superstore.
