A residential fire that erupted Friday night in a neighborhood near C-bar-C Park caused damage to two homes.

Battalion Chief Mike Johnson said no injuries were reported to residents or firefighters. Video posted by Metro Fire on social media showed a charred side of one of the homes.

A single male occupant lived at the home on Aster Court where the fire originated, according to neighbors. The man declined to answer any questions from a Sentinel reporter at the scene. Fire officials said the cause is under investigation.

Next door neighbor Doug Schierer said his house was also damaged from the fire. He said heat and smoke damage was evident on the side of his house next to the fire.

Crews responded at 7:25 p.m., just three minutes after the initial call, and took 10 minutes to put out the flames, according to Johnson.

A total of four fire engines, two trucks, and additional command and medical vehicles responded to the scene. Johnson said crews from Folsom fire department were also on hand during the incident.
