Citrus Heights police vehicles and crime scene tape could be seen at San Juan Park on Saturday after a body was found in the southwest area of the park.
Police Lt. Wesley Herman told The Sentinel officers were called to the scene on Aug. 8 shortly after 7 a.m. He said responding officers located the body of a male in his late 50s.
Investigators found significant trauma to the man’s upper body and are treating the death as a homicide.
Police did not have a suspect in custody as of Saturday night. No further details were released.
San Juan Park is located at 5509 Mariposa Ave., near Madison Avenue.
